Be the first to review this product

The name 'Mitla' from this clay mask relates to the place of Mitla, in the State of Oaxaca. It is well known for its precolombian buildings and its unique wall decorations. The Zapotec name for the place is Lyobaa ('Burial place'), the Nahuatl speaking Aztecs named it then Mictlán ('Place of the dead'). The city has been since inhabited. A part of the modern city was built on top of the original Mitla city, but there are still some of the original palace complexes.

Let one of our hand finished Mitla clay mask bring a piece of precolumbian Mexican culture to your home.
